Count how many chimes it emits and remember this number.

When setting the time stop at every chime spot hours hours sometimes hours and allow the clock to fully chime.
Keep moving the big hand back to 9 then forward to 11 and 12 until your chimes are in sync with the numbers.
Chime is off will not chime.
Place one forefinger gently on the minute hand and push it lightly over to the number 12.
2 for pendulum clocks make sure clock is ticking evenly.
If this does not solve the problem replace the batteries.
Make sure clock is on a stable surface and does not rock.
To correct a spring driven clocks mantle or wall clock that is bonging the hour when the minute hand gets to 6 o clock instead of 12 o clock just count the bongs take off the minute hand and reinstall it on the clock pointing to 12 o clock then turn the hour hand to the hour you heard the clock bong and its done.
The clock chimes several minutes before the hour when the hands are moved manually.
The locking pallet on the right side is the old one.
It is a general rule to never move the hands backwards when setting the time on a vienna regulator.

The clocks will chime on the hour under normal operation.
Ensure that the chime is not in the off position.
If the clock is running a little slow turn the nut to the right to lift the pendulum bob this will make the clock run a little faster.

3 make sure minute hand is not caught on hour hand.
1 make sure clock is fully wound.
If clock does not run.
If your chimes were out of sync move the big hand back to 9 and wait for the sound of the spring.
Your clock will now naturally emit a series of chimes.
Then move the hand forward to 11 listen for the spring again and move the hand to 12.
Vienna regulators are precision clocks if they do not run it is normally due to something rubbing ie the pendulum or the clock is not perfectly in beat.
There are exceptions to this rule but usually setting the hands backwards will damage the clock.
